Connections, a band that comprises up to a dozen or so United Methodist clergy members performing at a time, began several years ago as a jam session of Dan Fogelberg songs during a clergy retreat.
The band’s current repertoire includes tributes to James Taylor, Carole King, The Eagles, Chicago, Elton John and The Doobie Brothers. Band members say it’s not much of a sacrifice to give up their time to play secular music for charity because they pick music they like. Their music is what you enjoy singing in the car when you think no one is watching.
A rockin’ family safe evening of entertainment will benefit Stronger Than Espresso, whose mission is to encourage, educate and train survivors of domestic abuse. Admission is free with donations accepted.
Produced by Hope Rising and Graciously hosted by First United Methodist Church of McKinney, the concert will be held in Dyer Hall at 7pm, Doors will open at 6pm for the Silent Auction.
