The Connections Band will be performing at First United Methodist Church of McKinney on Friday, February 17 at 7:00 pm with doors opening at 6:00 pm.

Connections is a unique cover-band that plays music from fan favorites such as James Taylor, Chicago, Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Dan Fogelberg, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and dozens more. Members of the band are comprised of United Methodist pastors from around the DFW area with a goal to play music while raising money for various charities.

Recently, Connections passed a significant milestone by officially raising over $300,000 for various benefits including Imagine No Malaria, UMCOR and for victims of storms within our own community.

The concert being held on Friday, February 17 will benefit a local non-profit, Stronger Than Espresso that offers healing programs for survivors of domestic abuse and gender based violence. They specialize in connecting, encouraging, educating, coaching, mentoring, and training survivors of domestic abuse. Hope Rising, another local non-profit whose mission is to create change through arts-related events that foster education about sexual and domestic violence, is sponsoring the event.

Friday’s concert will be held in Dyer Hall at First UMC of McKinney at 315 North Church Street, just two blocks off Downtown McKinney Square. The concert is free but donations are accepted to go towards Stronger Than Espresso. Hope Rising is also holding a silent auction that will be open at 6:00 pm prior to Friday’s concert.

Connections will be playing their “summer set” of fun sing-along music. Refreshments will be served and the concert is open to all ages.
