 eeds blood for lifesaving treatments including surgeries\, trauma recovery
  and cancer care. Although 4.5 million lives are saved each year through b
 lood transfusions\, only about 3 percent of eligible people donate. Just o
 ne donation can help save lives—and it starts with you. \nTo donate you mu
 st be in good health\, at least 16 years old\, weigh 110 pounds or more\,
  and feel well on the day of your donation. Sixteen-year-old donors must b
 ring a signed parental consent form—parental consent is not required for a
 ges 17 and older. Plan to attend and make a meaningful difference in someo
