Did you know that bingo originated around 1530?

The game itself, not originally called bingo, is thought to have had its roots in Italy in the 16th century, specifically, around 1530. Bingo originates from the Italian lottery, Il Gioco del Lotto d'Italia. Bingo was popularized by a New York toy salesman, Edwin S Lowe, who, back in December 1929 came across the game being played at a fair in Jacksonville Georgia. Lowe returned home and recreated the game for friends.

Belle and Sparrows, a nonprofit based in McKinney, is thrilled to announce their upcoming event, Bingo for Belles. This exciting gathering will take place on August 22 from  6:00 - 9:00 pm at Matt's Ranchero Mexican Restaurant in Allen.
