I scream, you scream….. we all scream for ice cream!!

What is an ice cream crank-off, you ask? Here’s a little history of how this event began….

The coolest place to be on Independence Day, July 4th, 2020, will be at Chestnut Square for our 25th Annual Ice Cream Crank-Off & Festival. Join us for family fun, food, entertainment, and plenty of delicious homemade ice cream. The Heritage Village at Chestnut Square will be filled with activities such as a pony rides, face painter, games (non-contact), ice cream crankers, and more! The festivities will begin during our Farmers market at 10:00am. Tastings will be from 11:00am-1:00pm. Web site is chestnutsquare.org

In 1994, Killis Melton told his son-in-law, Clyde Geer: “I’m always up for a chili cook-off, but what Texas needs in the summer is an ice cream crank-off!”  And the rest is history!

Over the years, thousands of people have enjoyed the tastes of homemade ice cream, great music, magic shows, and fun kids’ activities.
