George Fuller held his Mayoral Campaign Kick-off event Tuesday night at the Sanctuary Event center in McKinney, Texas. Fuller is a longtime resident and business owner in McKinney and most notably known in recent years for his leadership role in the revitalization of Adriatica, a 46 acre, complex, European themed, mixed-use development in the heart of McKinney. Now thriving, Adriatica had fallen prey to the economic woes of 2008. Fuller is marries to philanthropist and singer, Maylee Thomas-Fuller (recipient of the 2014 McKinney Citizen Of The Year Award) and father of 4 children, ages 16 to 27. Fuller is the founder and owner of The Guitar Sanctuary, The Sanctuary Event Center, George C. Fuller Contracting Company and co-founder of the Love Life Foundation, a non-profit organization started in 1992 that supports at-risk women and children throughout the community and beyond.
Fuller's city involvement includes 5 years on the McKinney Community Development Corporation, serving as Chairman his last three years, current member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, President of the Stonebridge Ranch Commercial Association and member of the Meals on Wheels Board of Trustees. Fuller is largely credited with the recruitment and placement of the PSA McKinney Youth Sports Complex and bringing the long-delayed McKinney Aquatic and Fitness Facility to fruition. The even was well attended with an energized crown of approximately 250 people. John Baublis ("Johnny B" of KLAK fame), Ray Eckenrode and former City Council members Geralyn Kever and David Brooks (CEO of Independent Bank) all spoke on Fuller's behalf. The common theme centered around Fuller's vast accomplishments, vision, experience and revered character. All praised his leadership skills. McKinneyRising.com is the campaign website.
