McKinney Repertory Theatre's production of "Forever Plaid" opened on Friday at McKinney Performing Arts Center and continues with performances on August 2-3 and 9-10. "Forever Plaid" is a delightful musical journey celebrating harmony, brotherhood, and the power of music.
"Forever Plaid" follows the story of a quartet of young, eager male singers who are tragically killed in a car crash on their way to their first big concert. Miraculously, they are given the chance to return to Earth to perform the show they never got to do in life. Through heavenly harmony and hilarity, the Plaids discover the meaning of friendship, love, and the perfect chord.
To make this production even more special, McKinney Repertory Theatre is offering its’ first-ever dessert theater for this show. Audiences can indulge in delectable desserts while enjoying the heartwarming melodies and comedic antics of "Forever Plaid".

MRT’s production of "Forever Plaid" is directed by Aaron Adair and produced by Nadine Donnelly with Kelly Bazan-Baxter associate producing. The poster artwork for Forever Plaid was created by local McKinney artist, Kim Guthrie. This poster art is Ms. Guthrie’s fifth and final piece of original art done as a series in honor of MRT’s 20th Anniversary. Forever Plaid is written, originally directed, and choreographed by Stuart Ross with musical continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. Forever Plaid was originally produced by Gene Wolsk andis being presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
