The Friends of the McKinney Public Library System welcome back the 2011 Read Across McKinney author, Kathleen Kent. Kent will discuss her new novel The Outcasts at a special luncheon Oct. 9 at noon at Heard-Craig Hall, 306 N. Church Street. Tickets can be purchased at mckinneypubliclibrary.org.

“Kathleen’s novel The Heretic’s Daughter was very popular with our citizens, and we are honored she is coming to share about her research and the writing of her newest novel, The Outcasts,” said Beth Scudder, McKinney Public Library Director.This is the perfect venue to discuss this book as it is set in Texas after the Civil War, and we know this will intrigue many of our readers.”

The McKinney Public Library System has purchased multiple copies of the book in English, large print, audiobook and e-book formats. All event information can be found online at mckinneypubliclibrary.org. The 2015 Read Across McKinney book selection will be revealed in April 2015.
