On Saturday, Aug. 18, the City of McKinney, partnering with the American Heart Association, will present the HeartChase in downtown McKinney, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Participants, grouped in teams of 2-5 people, will have fun while learning the benefits of healthy living.  Teams will compete in challenges including games, puzzles and a race for donations to collect points.  The HeartChase is described as "The Amazing Race meets wacky team-based games like Minute-to-Win-It."  Each team will need at least one smartphone (iPhone or Android) and should download the HEARTCHASE app for the competition.

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • HeartChase Winner - Lunch for the team at Spoon's Cafe
  • Most Spirited - Baskets courtesy of MOM & POPcorn Company
  • Team that raises the most money - each team member (up to 5) gets a $100 gift card to shop or dine in downtown McKinney
