In efforts to control mosquitoes, the City of McKinney will spray an area of the city, weather permitting, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 and ending at 6 a.m. the morning of Saturday, Aug. 4.

From the City of McKinney:

The crews will spray generally in an area south of Virginia Pkwy., west of Stonebridge Dr., north Eldorado Pkwy., and east of Custer Rd. Signs will be posted at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity and information. A map of the spray area is posted on the city’s website at www.mckinneytexas.org/mosquitocontrol

Residents in the spray area are advised to stay indoors during the spray period and should bring their pets inside that evening. Residents who do not want to spray near their home may contact the City of McKinney Health Compliance at (972) 547-7447 by 2 p.m. the day of spraying.

Residents are asked to report standing water, illegal dumping and increased mosquito activity through McKinney's West Nile information line at 972-547-7473.
