An early-morning collision between an 18-wheeler and a car ended with one fatality Monday, Dec. 19.  The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway at Custer Road.  

Reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of a white Hyundai drifted into a guardrail and then back into the center lane, where it spun sideways.  The 18-wheeler, which was travelling behind the car, could not avoid the car.  

The driver of the car died at the scene.  The truck driver was not injured. 

Northbound lanes of the Sam Rayburn Tollway will be closed until approx. noon today.
