Dear District 70 Students,

Our office is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) for next year’s class (fall 2015/spring 2016 academic year). The TASSP provides a unique opportunity to encourage students to become members of the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, the Texas State Guard, the United States Coast Guard, the United States Merchant Marine, or commissioned officers in any branch of the armed services of the United States. The scholarship amount will be determined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and will not exceed $10,000.

The requirements for the scholarship can be emailed to you by contacting our district office. If you meet these requirements, and you want to be nominated for the scholarship, send a package with the following items:

1)   Cover Letter and Resume

2)   Transcript

3)   3 Letters of Recommendation

4)   Essay Topic "What does America mean to you?" (300 words min/350 words max)
