Children often have big dreams of becoming astronauts and working around rockets and similar equipment, and Scott Johnson Middle School is bringing those dreams to its students.

The school is implementing the SJMS Rocketry Group, headed by Career and Technical Education teacher Dellen Gibson.  Students who choose to join the club will work on rocketry-related projects during lunch or after school to prepare for national competition.

The SJMS Rocketry Group is also designed to inspire creativity and teach students the importance of technology, science and engineering as they use a combination of the three to plan and construct projects.
