McKinney residents have something to be excited about this weekend, as the City of McKinney reported that the Eldorado Parkway exit from northbound U.S. 75 has been reopened, following construction as part of the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) U.S. 75 widening project.

From the City of McKinney:

Today, the first major milestone of the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney occurred this morning with the reopening of the Eldorado Parkway exit from U.S. 75 northbound.

The TxDOT construction project is anticipated to be complete in March 2015 and will provide extra capacity by widening U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction.

The Eldorado Parkway exit from northbound SRT to northbound U.S. 75 (Direct Connect Ramp) is still closed. It is expected to reopen soon, but an exact date has not yet been determined. In order to access  Eldorado Parkway from northbound SRT, drivers should exit SRT to the frontage road and continue to the U.S. 75 frontage road to Eldorado Parkway.
