Heritage Guild presents "Learn about Carnival Glass"

What is Carnival Glass?  Learn more about carnival glass with Fred and Elaine Blair at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Allen Train Depot, 100 E. Main.  The original glass was a “poor man’s Tiffany” mass-produced from 1908 until about 1920.  Your grandmother or great-grandmother may have had a yellow-orangish bowl that had iridescence, like oil on water.  Fred and Elaine Blair have been collecting Carnival Glass for over 30 years and have over 1,000 pieces in their collection. Displaying numerous samples of glass, the Blairs will offer information on how to identify pieces, and attempt to answer questions.  If you have an iridized piece of that is conceivably Carnival Glass, bring it to the meeting.  They will try to identify your piece’s pattern and estimate a price range. Prices range from $1 to $250K.  A door prize will be given.  Call 972-740-8017.
