McKinney ISD Council of PTAs held its last annual meeting, officer installations and founder’s day celebration last week at McKinney ISD Central Office Main board room. Many PTAs and individuals were recognized and received awards, including:

Wolford Elementary –

Early Bird Award: Presented to each local PTA that submits membership dues and a membership list for 75 percent of its previous March 15 membership total to the Texas PTA office.

Outstanding PTA honorable mention: Honorable mention given to those PTAs who have submitted the survey awards application on time, have received a membership award from Texas PTA, bylaws up to date, in good standing with Texas PTA, submitted all PTA financial obligations on a timely basis and has scored a 30 or higher on application.

Overall Outstanding PTA award giving to highest scoring survey application

McGowen Elementary –

Head start Award: Presented to all PTAs that get a jump on the new school year by recruiting and reporting at least 50 additional members between April 1 and August 31.

Early bird Award: Presented to each local PTA that submits membership dues and a membership list for 75 percent of its previous March 15 membership total to the Texas PTA office.

Golden Apple Award: Presented to all PTAs that recruit and report 100 percent of school faculty as members by the Spring award deadline of March 15. Texas PTAs' definition of faculty is: principals, assistant principals, teachers, counselors and aides employed at the campus full time

Winter Increase Award: Presented to each local PTA with a membership increase on December 1 as compared to the previous year’s December 1 total. 

Texas Star Award: Presented to all PTAs that have a President on record at Texas PTA, were active by October 15, have updated bylaws within the last 5 years and increased membership by March 15.

Minshew Elementary-

Early Bird Award: Presented to each local PTA that submits membership dues and a membership list for 75 percent of its previous March 15 membership total to the Texas PTA office.

Winter Increase Award: Presented to each local PTA with a membership increase on December 1 as compared to the previous year’s December 1 total. 

Texas Star Award: Presented to all PTAs that have a President on record at Texas PTA, were active by October 15, have updated bylaws within the last 5 years and increased membership by March 15.

Press Elementary-

Winter Increase Award: Presented to each local PTA with a membership increase on December 1 as compared to the previous year’s December 1 total. 

Texas Star Award: Presented to all PTAs that have a President on record at Texas PTA, were active by October 15, have updated bylaws within the last 5 years and increased membership by March 15.

Burks Elementary –

Winter Increase Award: Presented to each local PTA with a membership increase on December 1 as compared to the previous year’s December 1 total. 

Reuben Johnson Elementary-

Gold Award: Presented to all PTAs that recruit and report membership totals equaling at least 75 percent of the school’s student enrollment by the Spring award deadline of March 15.

MARS Award: Presented to all PTAs that recruit and report 50 or more male members by the spring award deadline of March 15.
