Murphy Historical Society presents a 1920s themed fundraising event on April 1, 2023, at The Bridgemoore of Plano, 1109 Park Vista & FM 544, Plano, Texas, to raise funds to preserve Murphy's historical artifacts.  

Cocktails begin at 6:30 and are served by volunteer, Tiffany Turnbull, from the Murphy Chamber of Commerce and The Turnbull Agency. Members helping serve snacks will be dressed in 1920s attire.  Rich Baker from the Murphy Chamber of Commerce and Farmer's Insurance will lead guest to have a Roaring Good Time. Guests are invited to join the fun and dress as a flapper, mobster, gangster, or bootlegger.  A photo booth staffed by members is available for photos.  Simple hats, feathers, and headdress are available to guests not dressing in costume, but who want to commemorate the night in pictures. 

Dinner activities begin at 7:00 pm.  Magio's Murphy is providing the menu consisting of three types of pasta, two salads, and yummy bread sticks! Members of the Society serve desserts and beverages.  The North Texas Civilian Historians are on hand to make sure everyone enjoys the dinner discussion. The The Two Headed Pig a "Who Dun It" type mystery will entertain the dinner guests." 

After dinner guests are encouraged to take part in contests for the best dressed female, male, and couple.  A Charleston contest is also available.  Winners of the Murphy Historical Society Facebook Trivia Contest will be announced.  The event ends at 10:00 pm.

Tickets are $50.00 per person with checks made out to Murphy Historical Society and sent to 120 East FM 544, suite 72, PMB 271, Murphy, Texas 75094. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks for mail delivery; so, leave plenty of time to get your check to us.  Online tickets are available on our website at www.murphyhistorical.com .
