Droves of new people are coming to McKinney, and many of them are trying out local churches. Christ Fellowship reports that the growth is so significant that it had to add a new service time at 1 p.m. — and they had to do it quick!

"Our worship center seats about 1,200 people, and our services at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. are comfortable for the adults. But our children's ministry was another thing altogether," said Bethany Russell, communications director for Christ Fellowship, a non-denominational church located off Eldorado Parkway in McKinney. "We had so many children coming that we had to do something. So we made a quick decision to add a third service at 1 p.m. We could really use a little help spreading the word about this additional service time. We made the decision just two weeks before the new service will start this Sunday, Sept. 15."

The church hopes the later time will be popular with teens and young adults. "And active families can hit the bike trails while it's cool in the morning and still make it to a church service," Russell said. "People who have sports games with their kids have more options to still make church an important part of their Sunday morning." New volunteers have been stepping forward, and the church is excited.

"God is bringing people our way faster than we expected in answer to our prayers. It is time for us to step out in crazy faith to make sure we have room for people," said Bruce B. Miller, senior pastor of Christ Fellowship. The first 1 p.m. service lands on National Back to Church Sunday. Over 20,700 churches across the country are inviting people to give church a try.

"I personally invite you to come," Miller said. "We are starting our new series, Life Under Pressure. I don't know anyone who is not experiencing pressure. God gives us strength for dealing with life's pressures. Come find that strength for yourself. We are all about Jesus, so you find that Christ is at the center of our messages and our music. Christ Fellowship is contemporary and casual. You do not have to wear 'church clothes.' Come as you are. I usually preach in blue jeans."

Christ Fellowship encourages anyone without a church home to find a good church and "go back to church" this Sunday.

"We would love to meet you in person, but if you can't make it, I invite you to connect with us at Christ Fellowship Online," Miller said.

Christ Fellowship is located at 2801 Orchid Dr. McKinney, TX 75070, near Eldorado Pkwy. and Hardin Blvd. For more information about Christ Fellowship, visit www.christfellowshipeldorado.com or call 972-547-7000 or email info@christfellowshiphome.com.
