The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Completes Construction on the Third Chapel in McKinney

MCKINNEY, TEXAS - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has completed construction on the third church building in McKinney located at 2906 Hardin Boulevard.  This chapel will serve two McKinney congregations and one congregation from Prosper.

To celebrate the opening of the new chapel, local members of the Church are hosting an open house for the public on Saturday, March 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  People of all ages, faiths and backgrounds are welcome.  “We are excited to permanently open our doors to our friends and neighbors, to show our church building, and to let them see our place of worship of Jesus Christ,” said Jared Critchfield, bishop of the McKinney 8th ward, which has been meeting in Melissa, Texas.

Hallmarks of the LDS faith are a respect for the diverse beliefs and unique contributions of all world faiths, the joy of serving neighbors, and following the example of Jesus Christ.  Members everywhere are encouraged to be self-reliant, give charitable and community service, care for the poor and needy, and enhance the quality of life in the community.
