The City of McKinney requirement for a Hot Work Permit to perform any type of hot work including cutting, welding or other similar operation within McKinney city limits, in effect since August 9, 2012, has been lifted.  This requirement may be reinstated at any time; so, please watch for status updates in area media, by calling 972-547-2879, or by visiting www.mckinneyfire.org.

In addition, the burn ban relating to the wood-burning camp fires in City Park’s concrete circles has been lifted. Contact the McKinney Parks and Recreation Department to request permission to have a camp fire by calling 972-547-7480.

The McKinney Fire Department reminds all individuals and businesses that the Hot Work Permit requirement and/or the Burn Ban may be reinstated at any time, dependent upon drought conditions.  Please be vigilant in your safety and in monitoring announcements regarding drought, weather, and burn conditions.
