McKinney High School Marquettes dance team possesses the qualities necessary to achieve in any endeavor -- overall talent and determination.
They used both of these qualities to their advantage during the MA Dance Nation National Championship on March 22 and 23. The Marquettes were among numerous school and dance studios that performed at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Drill Teams from Texas, Iowa, Kentucky, Florida and as far away as South Africa performed. During the competition, the Marquettes earned individual distinctions as well as a number of distinctions earned by the team leading to them claiming the tile of National Champions for Novelty Team Division.

MHS Marquette Director Amy Neely is justifiably proud of the way the Marquettes distinguished themselves at the competition. She finds even greater pride in the class and dedication in preparing for the show. “The girls were fabulous and represented McKinney High School well,” said Neely.
