Local Yocal offers various educational and tasting experiences for all to enjoy at their two locations, Local Yocal Farm to Market and Local Yocal BBQ & Grill. From immersive, hands-on classes at their farm-to-market retail and butcher shop to a whiskey dinner pairing, daily happy hours, and more at their farm-to-table restaurant, there is something for all.

 

Steak 101 Class and Steak 201 Pit Master Class

Local Yocal Farm to Market

Local Yocal Farm to Market’s Steak 101 Class is a crash course in all things concerning beef. Hosted by Local Yocal’s knowledgeable and entertaining owner and famed rancher Matt Hamilton and Head Butcher Adam Stone, the immersive class will have attendees leaving as carnivore connoisseurs. Steak-enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their appetite and beverage of their choice, as the class ends with a delicious tasting of over 17 fine beef cuts including; grass-fed Wagyu and 100% Angus, house-made sausage, ribeye, filet, Local Yocal’s signature McKinney steak and much more. The Steak 101 Class is $75 per person.  

For those looking for additional steak knowledge, Local Yocal is now offering a Steak 201 Pit Master class for those that attended Steak 101 and want to learn more. The class is an immersive hands-on experience alongside Adam Stone, Head Butcher and Director of Operations. The class will feature tips on selecting and grilling everything from burgers, sausages, and different type of steaks. Attendees will be able to sample their work at the end of class. The Steak 201 Pit Master Class is $100 per person.

Local Yocal Farm to Market, a farmer-owned market featuring pasture-raised meats and locally sourced organic products, is located at 213 N. Tennessee St., McKinney TX, 75069. Local Yocal BBQ & Grill’s Happy Hour

Local Yocal BBQ & Grill is giving locals another reason to smile with their happy hour menu. The limited drink and food menu features draft beer for $4, wine on tap for $5 and choice of Moscow or Kentucky Mule for $6. Sharable treats are also available, such as the Deviled Eggs ($7), Fried House Dill Pickles ($7), Brisket Cheese Fries ($9), and Pickle, Pig & Pimento ($9). Happy Hour is available at Local Yocal BBQ & Grill between 3PM – 7 PM Tuesday through Thursday and 9PM – 11PM Friday and Saturday.

Head to Local Yocal BBQ & Grill to celebrate National Chicken Fried Steak Day on October 26 with their Smoked Chicken Fried Steak. The signature item created by Chef Adam West features a buttermilk marinated and hand-battered Wagyu sirloin rounded out with a touch of smoke flavoring, served with smashed potatoes, bacon braised green beans, topped with peppered cream gravy. Available for lunch for $18 and dinner for $20. It is a crowd pleaser!

Join Local Yocal BBQ & Grill for their last spirited dinner of the year, in partnership with award-winning Ironroot Republic Distillery, a grain to glass distillery located in Denison, TX. This very special event will showcase an Ironroot Republic Barrel, carefully handpicked by the team at Local Yocal. Chef Adam West thoughtfully created this five-course dinner to highlight the one and only whiskey. The Ironroot Republic Distillery Dinner is $110 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.
