McKinney Boyd Senior Awarded 'Living for Zachary' Scholarship

McKinney Boyd senior Jordin Shelley was one of three recipients of the Living for Zachary Scholarship.

The scholarship was presented to Shelley Friday evening, Feb. 7 at the Living for Zachary Education Forum at The Heart Hospital Baylor in Plano. Shelley will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall pursuing a degree in biology with plans to continue on to medical school and become a cardiologist.

The Living for Zachary nonprofit was started after Zac Schrah, a seemingly-healthy 16 year old, collapsed during a high school football practice in Plano on April 2, 2009. The organization is dedicated to raising awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and saving lives through community education.
