The McKinney Education Foundation is offering two unique and exciting opportunities this holiday season for MISD students, staff and families to raise money for the non-profit organization — by attending a Dallas Stars hockey game, or acknowledging a MISD Teacher or staff member with the gift of a gold star.
MEF has partnered with NHL hockey team, the Dallas Stars, for MISD Night during the Thanksgiving break on November 26, 2013. The puck drops at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26th and tickets are just $15 if purchased online between now and noon on November 25.
The S.T.A.R Award (Staff, Teacher Appreciation and Recognition) was created to recognize outstanding MISD teachers and staff. For a tax-deductible donation of just $20, MEF will present a certificate from you or your student to your special teacher telling them why you chose to honor them. Attached is a golden star pin for them to wear on their MISD badge proclaiming to all that they are pretty terrific. The S.T.A.R. award makes for a great holiday gift, but is also available year-round for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, or Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-10, 2014).
Proceeds from both the Dallas Stars tickets and the S.T.A.R. Award benefit the McKinney Education Foundation, a non-profit organization serving MISD in four core areas: classroom grants, professional development grants, scholarships for graduating seniors and by placing college advisors on each high school campus. Please visit www.mmeeff.com to purchase your discounted Dallas Stars tickets or for details on how to make your student’s teacher a S.T.A.R.

MEF also offers Classroom and Professional Development grants for MISD staff.
