Methodist McKinney Hospital's Chief Nursing Officer Staci Jones presents Nursing Student Maryori Reyes with the "Methodist McKinney Hospital Annual Nursing Scholarship" at the Collin College 2017 Scholarship Awards Ceremony held on September 21, 2017.

Methodist McKinney Hospital's Chief Nursing Officer Staci Jones, along with the entire Methodist family, was thrilled to present Maryori Reyes with the "Methodist McKinney Hospital Annual Nursing Scholarship" at last week's Collin College Scholarship Foundation Awards Ceremony. Methodist McKinney Hospital's goal in sponsoring this scholarship is to support Nursing as a career choice .... especially due to the local and national shortage of nurses that is only getting worse.

It’s a good time to be a registered nurse. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that more than 430,000 additional registered nurse jobs will be created in the next decade. The Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies estimates that demand for registered nurses in the Lone Star State will rise 86 percent by 2020.  Americans consistently rank Nursing as the nation’s most trusted profession, Gallup polls show.

"We are so proud of Maryori and we are excited to see how she''ll give back to the community with her nursing talents," Jones said.
