UP POLICE BLOTTER: May 1 - 7

MAY 1

IDENTITY THEFT

In the 2800 block of Amherst Street, a middle-aged UP couple reported that their credit card account had been opened by an unknown person. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

In the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane, a male UP resident reported that his bicycle was stolen after he left it unlocked and unattended for a few minutes around 7:35 PM. 


MAY 3

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE 

An 85-year-old male UP resident reported that his Chevy trailblazer was stolen from the 3800 block of Bryn Mawr Drive in front of his residence at some point during the night.  


MAY 4

TELEPHONE FRAUD 

A 36-year-old woman reported that she received a fraudulent phone call in which an unknown subject attempted to obtain money from her. The call came in at roughly 1:30 PM while she was on the 6400 block of Hillcrest Avenue. 


DUTY ON STRIKING UNATTENDED VEHICLE 

A 26-year-old woman reported that her unattended car sustained damage from an unknown subject at approximately 2:00 PM while she was parked illegally on the 3900 block of Glenwick Lane. 



MAY 5

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

A 62-year-old man reported that an unknown subject dropped off a package on his front porch off of Centenary Drive and stole two other packages that were already there. The theft happened between the hours of 4:30 PM on May 4 and 7:51 AM on May 5. 

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

A 33-year-old male resident reported that an unknown subject stole a Yeti cooler out of the back of his pickup truck, which was parked in the driveway of his residence in the 2800 block of Milton Avenue. The theft occurred at some point between 7:00 PM on May 4 and 10 AM on May 5. 

IDENTITY THEFT 

A 44-year-old male resident reported that an unknown suspect used his personal ID information without permission at roughly 4:40 PM. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

The Dallas Police discovered that a 32-year-old male UP resident was the victim of package theft after they found his discarded box. The package may have been taken from the man's residence in the 4100 block of Greenbrier Drive. 


MAY 6

BURGLARY OF HABITATION 

Three women in their twenties (roommates) reported that an unknown subject was hiding in a closet when they came home. The subject ran off and police later made an arrest for the offense. Some electronics were damaged and several items were stolen from the young women's residence in the 3400 block of Daniel Avenue. One of the women's vehicles was also broken into. 

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING 

Two female residents (both in their forties) reported that an unknown suspect entered their residence on the 3800 block of Southwestern Boulevard without consent. It was reported at approximately 3:30 PM and nothing was stolen. 


MAY 7

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

A 60-year-old male resident parked his vehicle on the street outside of his home in the 2900 block of Stanford Avenue at approximately 10:00 PM. The next morning at approximately 10:00 AM, he discovered that an unknown subject had broken into his vehicle during the night and stolen the third-row seat.
