City of Plano Offers Assistance to Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

The City of Plano is actively assisting those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Plano Fire-Rescue deployed two members to work with Texas Task Force 1. A firefighter and his K-9, and a logistics officer are deployed with Texas Task Force 2. A fire engine with four fire personnel have also deployed. Plano's Director of Emergency Management, Carrie Reyes, deployed at the state's request to South Texas to assist with command and control.

For those who are wanting to help with those impacted by Hurricane Harvey: As mentioned, the City of Plano is working cooperatively statewide to provide assistance. We’ve been advised the fastest and easiest way you can help right now so is through a financial donation to your charity of choice, such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, North Texas Food Bank, Trusted World and others - this list is definitely not inclusive!

For now, please do not take donated items to shelters as they don’t have the staffing or storage to support such donations. New/gently used clothing, toiletries and nonperishables may be dropped off at Trusted World (15660 N. Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX 75248). Their hours vary, so please check their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/trustedworld/) for current hours before you head over with donations. We'll continue to post updates on the City's Facebook page and on Nextdoor. We thank our neighbors for helping our fellow Texans in need. This is why we say Plano is a Big City and a Strong Community!
