Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Road Near 121 in Plano/Allen

This Thursday morning, as many people were making their way to work around 9:00 AM, a small Cessna 182 landed on 121 near Custer. Sources say that the plane had experienced engine failure after departing from a nearby airport in McKinney. The pilot communicated his problems to a controller and determined that he would not be able to return to the airport.

The pilot was the only one on the plane, and luckily no one was injured in the emergency landing. The pilot maintained control of the plane as he brought it down, and the plane was pushed off of the service road and onto the grass as quickly as possible. Drivers were a little shaken by the unexpected event, but the road was cleared soon after.

The FAA is aware of the situation, and the pilot has not yet released a statement on the event.
