BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

At approximately 12:31 PM, an officer responded to the 4600 block of Fairfax Avenue in reference to a found property report. The reporting person advised the police that he found a girl's wallet and car key on Westside Drive. The wallet included a school ID, so the police officer contacted the girl's home, and her mother confirmed that it was her daughter's wallet. The mother believed the wallet was stolen from a car parked at the rear of the house. 


JANUARY 10 


FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT 

An officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Arcady Avenue on a report of a failure to leave an ID at the scene of an accident. The victim stated that sometime between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM, a sanitation worker witnessed a vehicle parked outside of her home. It had struck her vehicle and caused damage to the driver's side mirror, but the driver left no information behind. 

ACCIDENT INVOLVING DAMAGE TO VEHICLE 

At approximately 5:15 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Highland Park Shopping Village to meet with a victim and a witness. The witness reported that he saw a black pickup truck accelerate out of a parking lot after causing damage to the victim's vehicle. The driver did not leave behind any information. 


JANUARY 11 


FRAUDULENT USE/POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION 

A resident of the 3200 block of Beverly Drive reported that she began receiving notices from Bank of America that accounts were being opened in her name without her permission using her social security number, cell phone number, and physical address. She suffered no financial losses and closed the accounts, but she wanted to make a report. 


JANUARY 12 


GRAFFITI PECUNIARY LOSS

A police officer received a call stating that some property belonging to the Town of Highland Park in the 4200 block of Lakeside Drive had been damaged with graffiti. Photographs were taken but there are no current suspects. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 3:44 PM, an officer was dispatched to the lobby at 4700 Drexel Drive to take a report of a package theft from the porch of a home in the 4300 block of Bordeaux Avenue. The victim advised that the packaged was stolen sometime between 5:49 PM on Sunday, January 7, and Wednesday, January 10 at 4:25 PM. The total value of the package was more than $600. 


JANUARY 13


ACCIDENT INVOLVING DAMAGE TO VEHICLE 

An officer responded to the 3400 block of Princeton Avenue in response to a reported hit and run at approximately 10:49 AM. The caller stated that his vehicle was parked legally on the street when another vehicle caused damage to his driver's side mirror, front wheel, and front bumper. The caller was not with his car when the damage occurred and could not find any identifying information at the scene.
