HP POLICE BLOTTER: November 27 - December 3

NOVEMBER 27

IDENTITY THEFT 

A victim living in the 45000 block of Bordeaux Avenue stated that she had received an invoice from a debt collection company in August. The notice stated that she had an outstanding balance of more than $3,000 but she had never opened an account. It appears that an unknown suspect has been using the victim's name and social security number to conduct transactions without permission. 

FOUND PROPERTY 

At approximately 10:10 AM, an officer observed a golf bag full of golf clubs sitting at the southwest corner of Abbott Avenue and Drexel Drive. The resident nearby stated that he did not own the clubs or know who they belonged to. The golf clubs were taken into custody for safekeeping. 

FRAUDULENT POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION 

At approximately 2:12 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 4400 block of Lakeside Drive in response to a report of fraud. The victim stated that she received a phone call from her credit card company alerting her to possible fraudulent charges. The victim then realized that her credit cards and driver's license were missing from her purse. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 

A victim stated that his son's vehicle was parked legally in front of their residence in the 4400 block of Lorraine Avenue when an unknown suspect broke into it overnight. The back window of the vehicle was forced open but nothing was taken. 


NOVEMBER 29

DAMAGE TO PRIVATE PROPERTY (NON-CRIMINAL) 

A police officer was dispatched to the 4600 block of Southern Avenue in response to a report of damage to private property. The victim stated that an unknown white male used his driveway to perform a three-point turn. In doing so, the suspect drove over a sprinkler head and damaged it. 


NOVEMBER 30 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 7:15 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 4600 block of Belclaire Avenue in regards to a report of stolen Christmas decorations. The victim stated that between 5:55 AM and 6:41 AM, an unknown subject had taken the decorations from her front yard without consent. 


DECEMBER 1

FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT 

A police officer responded to a call at approximately 10:35 AM in regards to an accident. The victim explained that she had parked in the fifteen-minute parking space outside of a UPS store, and when she started to back out, another vehicle struck her vehicle and left without leaving any information behind. 

FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT 

A victim walked into the Highland Park lobby at approximately 3:34 PM to report a FLID that occurred the previous day. He stated that he had been traveling east in the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane when a vehicle attempted to merge into his lane. The other vehicle struck the front passenger side of his car. The other driver did not stop to leave the necessary information with the victim. 


DECEMBER 2

THEFT OF FIREARM 

At approximately 3:55 PM, an officer responded to the 4600 block of N Versailles Avenue in response to a reported BMV. The complainant stated that an unknown person had entered his unlocked vehicle and taken a firearm without permission while it was parked outside of his residence.

FOUND PROPERTY 

An officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Potomac Avenue at approximately 7:05 PM. The reporting person stated that he had found a set of keys on the sidewalk while walking in front of his home. No one in the nearby area claimed the keys. 


DECEMBER 3

BURGLARY OF HABITATION 

At approximately 12:11 AM, an officer met with a victim who reported suspicious activity at his residence in the 3900 block of Euclid Avenue. The victim stated that he had just recently purchased the residence and had left two Uhaul pods in the driveway. He recently observed that the locks on the two pods had been cuts and items had been removed from the pods and placed on the driveway. It was not clear if any items had been taken. 

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

At approximately 1:26 PM, an officer was dispatched to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 3800 block of Normandy Avenue. The victim stated that the third-row seat of his vehicle had been removed overnight while it was parked outside of his residence.
