HP POLICE BLOTTER: July 23 - 29

JULY 23 

FOUND PROPERTY 

At approximately 1:46 PM, an unknown subject walked into the HPDPS lobby at 4700 Drexel Drive to drop off a ring they had found at the intersection of Bordeaux Avenue and Roland. The ring is gold in color with a cross on it and clear stones set inside the cross. No other information is known. 


JULY 25 


THEFT OF PROPERTY 

Two officers were dispatched to the HPSV to assist a security officer with a theft report. A reporting person stated that a loss prevent employee returned from lunch and found that a purse was missing from a display stand. The officers reviewed the security footage and found two black females that entered the store. One distracted an employee while the other placed the purse in a bag. They then both left without paying. The purse is valued at $2,250. 

BURGLARY OF HABITATION 

At approximately 6:30 PM, two officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue in response to a burglary of a habitation. The reporting person stated that she had entered her residence through her back alley garage at approximately 5:55 PM, and when she returned to the garage at 5:55 PM, she found that several storage cabinets and a closet had been opened. Golf clubs were missing and it appears as though one of the vehicles in the garage has been tampered with. 


JULY 26 


IDENTITY THEFT 

An officer responded to a report of an identity theft in the 4800 block of Preston Road. The reporting person stated that between April 24 of 2017 and October 26 of 2017, someone used her identity to lease an apartment in Flordia. She was only made aware of this event on July 16, 2018, when she received a collection letter from Florida Power and Light. She also received an eviction notice for the Florida property. 


JULY 27 


BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

At 2:40 PM, an officer responded to a walk-in report at the HPDPS. The reporting person stated that he was there to file a BMV report. His plumbing company had been working on a residence in the 3700 block of Potomac Avenue when the incident occurred. Between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on July 25, someone took several items from the truck without permission. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

An officer was patrolling the area when he was dispatched to Abbott Park on the report of a burglarized motor vehicle. A town employee reported that a landscaping company had been robbed of a backpack blower and string trimmer. The items were in the back of the company's truck when they were taken. No suspects were observed. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At 4:09 PM, a victim told police that two packages had been stolen from the front of her residence in the 4500 block of Abbott Avenue. The packages had been delivered at approximately 2:00 PM and were missing by the time she came home at 6:00 PM. 

LOST PROPERTY REPORT 

At 6:34 PM, an officer met with a victim who stated that he had a lost a maroonish red suitcase. It has his nametag and phone number on it and most contained clothing. He lost it when he pulled many bags out of his car on a trip with his wife. He believes the suitcase may have never made it back into the car when he took other things out.
