IDENTITY THEFT

At 11:46 AM, an officer responded to a call in the 3400 block of St. Johns Drive. The victim stated that he received a call from the fraud department of his bank, alerting him that someone had opened a bank account using his information. The victim had not given anyone permission to use his information. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY

An officer was dispatched to the Highland Park Swimming Pool on Lexington Avenue. There, the officer met with a victim who stated that an unknown person had used a tool to pry off the chrome center wheel caps from his vehicle's wheels. The vehicle had been parked near Drexel Drive at 5:30 AM, and when he returned at approximately 1:07 PM, he realized the covers were missing. 


MAY 31 

BURGLARY OF HABITATION 

An officer was dispatched to the 3900 block of Mockingbird Lane in response to the theft of a bicycle from a garage. The victim stated that he had opened his garage door to work out. When he returned from his workout, he found that the bicycle had been taken from the garage without permission. The stolen bicycle's info was recorded. 


JUNE 1

DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY 

An officer was finishing a crash report in the 5100 block of Elton Avenue when he observed a woman involved back her vehicle into a police vehicle. The police vehicle sustained a scratch, so a second report was filed. 

UNATTENDED VEHICLE

An officer was dispatched to the 4100 block of Mockingbird Lane at about 2:00 AM in response to a vehicle that was blocking the roadway. The vehicle was unoccupied and appeared to be abandoned. Because it was deemed a traffic hazard, the vehicle was impounded. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

An officer received an email that two air conditioning units were stored on the roof of a store in the HPSV. They had been vandalized and components were stolen. A crime scene investigation was conducted and a report was filed. 


JUNE 2

DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY

The HPDPS received a call claiming that a construction crew who was unloading heavy equipment near Potomac may be causing damage to the street. Police showed up to find that a house was being legally torn down, but there were now new cracks and dislodged pieces of asphalt in the roadway. 


JUNE 3 

INFORMATION REPORT 

An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 4600 block of Abbott Avenue who failed to use their turn signal. The officer then initiated a stop and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen and that a missing person was associated with the vehicle. Another office came to provide backup, and the driver was told to turn off the ignition and drop the keys outside the vehicle. A woman was driving the vehicle and a man was slumped in the passenger compartment. Both subjects were asked to exit the vehicle and were then handcuffed. The woman reported that the vehicle belonged to her mom, and she claimed that her mom knew she had the vehicle. The man from the car was identified as the missing person. The man was released but the woman was taken to Mockingbird Station. The vehicle was then towed.
