At approximately 6:32 PM, an officer responded to a call of identity theft in the Highland Park Lobby. The victim explained that someone from her bank told her someone opened her account and overdrew money from it. The victim then found out her identity had been stolen.
Two officers were dispatched to the scene of a minor accident in the 4800 block of Armstrong Parkway. A vehicle had struck a fire hydrant, causing damage and making water flow at a heavy rate from the hydrant. The driver had been attempting to change his shoes while driving. The vehicle was no longer operational. Photographs of the evidence were taken.
FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT
At 11:47 AM, an officer was dispatched to a walk-in report at 4700 Drexel Drive. the victim stated that she was having dinner at the Shops of Highland Park when she was told by a valet that her vehicle had been damaged. Another vehicle had backed into it and not left information behind.
At 11:22 AM, an officer responded to a call of an identity theft in the lobby of the Highland Park Department of Public Safety. The victim stated that $9,000 had been taken from his account and that he would be credited that amount by his bank after the claim was confirmed.
An officer was dispatched to the 4900 block of Hillcrest Avenue on the report of a bicycle standing on the sidewalk on the west side of the road. The bicycle had a chain wrapped around its frame, which appeared to have been cut, so the bicycle was tagged and booked in as found property.
THEFT OF PROPERTY
An officer was dispatched to the 4500 block of Edmondson to a report of a theft. The victim advised the officer that between 9:00 PM and midnight, an unknown person removed the side mirror glass from his vehicle's exterior mirrors without permission. No evidence from the suspect was collected.
