Trinity Falls has made the holidays brighter for one area couple, awarding a $1,500 airline voucher as part of its Home for the Holidays Sweepstakes.

Jeff and Veronica Kuenzle won the prize by visiting a model home in Trinity Falls and registering for the drawing. The pair had visited the Ashton Woods Homes model in the community, located just northwest of McKinney.

“The contest winner was selected in a completely random drawing, but it turns out they were in Trinity Falls to purchase a home — which they did,” said Jessica Zeeb, marketing coordinator for the community. “So we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Kuenzles at our many resident events.”

The general public was invited to visit any of Trinity Falls’ nine model homes Nov. 1 to Dec. 10 to register for the airline voucher. The winner was selected in time to make arrangements for holiday travel this year if they wanted, Zeeb said.

“The sweepstakes really was designed to both invite people to see the Trinity Falls homes and lifestyle and to give them an opportunity this holiday season to reconnect with loved ones who live far away,” she said.

Eight builders including Ashton Woods, Beazer Homes, Emerald Homes, Gehan Homes, Highland Homes, Meritage Homes, Perry Homes and Plantation Homes currently offer homes in Trinity Falls. The single-family homes are priced from the upper $200,000s to more than $600,000.

Named the 2016 “Master-Planned Community of the Year” by the Dallas Builders Association, the nearly 2,000-acre Trinity Falls offers buyers an amenity-filled lifestyle featuring The Club, a recreation complex with a beach-entry pool, open-air pavilion with a fireplace, a sunset terrace and event lawn where residents gather for events planned by a full-time lifestyle director.

Sienna Plantation now boasts 22 model homes open daily with the recent debut of a model by M/I Homes, the Fort Bend community’s newest builder.

The new model, located at 2510 Duke Heights Lane, is the first from the builder’s 35-foot luxury homes designs. The Coronado plan features three bedrooms and 3.5 baths within 2,466 square feet. The home boasts several outdoor spaces — including a covered patio, front porch and side courtyard — and an upstairs game room with a powder bath. Mid-century furniture and chartreuse green accents give the model art-deco ambiance. Although designed for smaller properties, the homes are being built on 45-foot homesites in Sienna Plantation, allowing for larger play yards.

“This model is a beautiful addition to the variety of homes offered in Sienna Plantation,” said Alvin San Miguel, general manager of the community. “Smart design maximizes space on the inside, while allowing for plenty of space outdoors.”

M/I Homes is offering seven floor plans in Sienna Plantation priced from the $240,000s and ranging from 1,704 to 2,643 square feet. Signature features include abundant counter space and free-standing ranges in kitchens, multiple living areas and flexible options for secondary outdoor living spaces.

“These designs have numerous flex options — such as the side courtyard with sliding doors shown in our model,” said Jay McManus, area president of M/I Homes. “We also efficiently planned these homes so you have both ample wall space and natural light, which can be a challenge when designing for these size lots.”

The 10,800-acre Sienna Plantation features townhomes, patio homes, single-family homes and luxury homes priced from the $250,000s to more than $1 million. Six Fort Bend Independent School District campuses are located onsite, and the community offers five pools, four recreation centers, a 160-acre Camp Sienna sportsplex, more than 100 acres of parks and miles of trails.

Sienna Plantation is ranked among the nation’s 50 top-selling communities and was named the 2017 Master-planned Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Business Association in the Houston’s Best PRISM awards.

Trinity Falls Entry

Got piles of paperwork, stacks of statements or heaps of receipts? Get rid of it all during Shred, White and Blue at Trinity Falls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 8.

The day of mass document destruction will take place at The Club in Trinity Falls, 7801 Trinity Falls Parkway, where local non-profit shredding company Expanco will be on hand to turn hoarded papers into confetti.

“Identity theft is a huge concern in this day and age, but people don’t always have access to a good shredder,” said Jim Baker, general manager of Trinity Falls. “So we are hosting a shredding party. We invite everyone to come out and toss their bags of old bills, unwanted junk mail, cancelled checks and other sensitive documents into the shredder and then spend the rest of the day having fun in our beautiful community.”

There is no fee to shred the documents and the McKinney community will have live music by local musician Philip Brumley, complimentary ice cream (one per person), a cowboy stilt walker and a children’s area. Pure Land Organic will be on-site with fresh produce. Burger baskets can be purchased from The Hamburger Man for $6.

The children's area will be located at B. B. Owen Park at The Club and will feature bounce houses, a balloon artist and a face painter. A portion of the proceeds from the $5 fee into the children's area and a portion from all sales of the burger baskets will benefit Shiloh Place, which offers housing, child care and tuition assistance to single moms and their children.

Trinity Falls has brought on Haley Howland as its new Director of Fun.

Howland, an East Texas native, is in charge of the McKinney development’s lifestyle program, planning resident events, organizing outings and coordinating special interest groups such as the Gold Cart Club, Happy Hour Social Club and Best Years Club.

It’s all part of instilling a hometown flavor into the master-planned community.

“I’m from a really small town and know what a sense of community feels like,” Howland said. “I want residents to have that sense of unity and belonging. I want people to not just know their next door neighbor, but the person who lives four blocks over.”

Howland says she expects to host events at the community’s resort-style pool, as well as at parks and The Club, a large-scale recreation center.

“I want to get kids out of the house and enjoying our beautiful amenities,” she said.

Howland is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin and holds a degree in hospitality.

Farm-fresh produce and local businesses combine to offer shopping and networking opportunities during the Heart to Home Showcase event at Trinity Falls 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 7.

Harvest to House, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, will headline the mini farmers market being held at The Club, 7801 Trinity Falls Parkway, with a selection of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables. Representatives will be on hand to provide more information about the program, which offers farm-to-front door delivery to area residents.

“Normally we do Heart to Home two times a year — just for our residents,” said Heather Bordner-Ayyob, lifestyle director for Trinity Falls. “This year we decided to open it up to the public. We usually have 15 to 20 local vendors on hand, so people can get to know our local business owners better while they have fun and pick up items for the dinner table.”

In addition to veggies, shoppers will have an opportunity to pick up a pint or two of ripe blackerberries from McKinney’s own Pure Land Organic Farm. For those interested in even fresher berries, owner Megan Neubauer will have information about the farm’s “pick your own blackerberries” event that runs the first three weeks in June.

Other scheduled vendors include Advocare, Custom Wreaths, Rodan and Fields, LipSense, Juice Plus and Tower Gardens. Vendors will donate items that will be raffled off throughout the evening.
