Scarborough Renaissance Festival celebrates its 45th season April 4May 25, 2026, in Waxahachie, Texas (2511 FM 66, approximately 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas). The popular outdoor festival is open Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day Monday from 10 a.m.7 p.m.

Visitors step into a re-created 16th-century English village filled with immersive entertainment for all ages, including full-combat jousting, birds of prey exhibitions, live music and comedy, interactive performances, games of skill and human-powered rides. Experience the amazing diversity in wetland vegetation and wildlife while learning about the history and basics of wetland ecology. After a safety and canoeing introduction, spend about 40 minutes on a guided trail around the Heard wetlands, followed by free paddle time to explore on your own.

No experience is necessary for any of the paddle programs. All participants will be given an introduction to canoeing that includes basic strokes, boat safety, and flat water maneuvers. Minimum age: 7 years. All canoe & safety equipment provided.

Mixology Mondays classes are hosted weekly at The Parlor, inside Sheraton Dallas, from 5-6pm. The cocktail featured varies weekly and reservations are required. The cost is $30/per person which does not include tax and gratuity. The interactive mixology classes are led by the hotels talented Mixologist, Adam, who has explored more than 43 countries and worked at luxury properties and bars across the world. Guests can have fun mixing a cocktail and then enjoy the delicious creation. Reservations are required.

2nd Saturday Bird Walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There are also plenty of opportunities provided for participants to ask questions of experienced birders. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks. This program is typically offered monthly from September through June annually. These walks begin promptly at 8 AM and last 1.5 hours.

This program is included in general admission and is free for Heard Museum members. Optional extended time is available by participant request. Be sure to arrive on time, because if you come a few minutes late, the group may have already started their walk. Learn more about birding at the Heard on our Birding page.
