On March 4, McKinney residents are invited to take part in a fun evening that will feature the latest in spring fashions, terrific food, enticing silent auction items, goody bags and other treats – all to benefit the community’s least fortunate.

The deadline to RSVP for the McKinney Ladies Association’s Spring 2013 Fashion Show is Friday, Feb. 22. Tickets are $50 per person.

Fashion Show Chairwoman Tammy DeWet, an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, says McKinney-area business owners have once again generously donated incredible items for the silent auction, which is always a popular part of the fashion show.

“We have great items to auction this year, including a puck autographed by Mike Modano of the Dallas Stars, one of the greatest American hockey players ever,” DeWet said. “There are unique family experiences to bid on – such as a weekend stay at a new lodge or family portrait sessions. There’s a seminar on how to write your own book, a session with a professional home staging expert who will redesign one room in your home using existing furnishings, tickets to shows and museums, meals at great local restaurants and numerous themed baskets."

Any business owners who would like to donate items to the silent auction may send an email to mlafashionshow@yahoo.com by Friday, Feb. 22.

“There is such a great mix of items that we expect the bidding to be highly competitive, which will just add to the fun of the evening. We hope everyone in McKinney can come out to be part of this amazing evening, which is always so much fun for such a great cause,” DeWet said.

The fashion show will begin at 6 p.m. March 4 at Eldorado Country Club, 2604 Country Club Drive in McKinney. All proceeds will go to Community Lifeline Center, which assists area residents experiencing crises due to unexpected medical or family emergencies.

Models for the annual fashion show are all local community members. They include Angie Bado – TownSquareBuzz founder/president; Jennibeth Brackett – Veterans Program coordinator at Community Lifeline Center; Stacie Durham – PIO with McKinney Fire Department; Jennifer Irwin – Marketing with Baylor Medical Center at McKinney; Jamie St. Clair – treasurer on Community Lifeline Center’s Board of Directors; Nancy Stoops – real estate agent; Alyssa Sumney – holistic healthcare provider/chiropractor; and Sherry Tucker – commissioner on the McKinney Arts Commission and founder of Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra. The benediction will be led by Christine Hockin-Boyd, executive director of Community Lifeline Center.

Sponsors include Cynthia Elliot, 209 Downtown Salon & Spa and Edwards Floral. Publicity assistance has
been provided by Holly Becka of HorsePower Communications.
